  hey everyone!

  i'm so happy that i finnally joined i just turned 17 and i have so many questions about the org.. i've been lurking around the site for months, and love reading experiences about bethel, and all the hypocricy that the wtbts spews out.. so i finally joined in and hope to make some great friends.. a little about me:.

  im male, 17, and i am a born-in, so this is all i know... i was baptised at age 13 i beleive.... my gramma, and grampa and mom , and sisters and brothers, are all jw's.

  Looking at your avitar and mine, we might be related...2nd cousins? LoL

  I am so happy, that at 17, you are questioning the "Beliefs" of the religion you were born and brought up in. (As an aside, that is what we tell Catholics, Buddists etc. to do. Don't just believe because it is the Family Religion. Ask questions, do research).

  There is such a wealth of knowledge, to be gleamed from this site. Possibly, some questions, you have, have been throughally researched and posted already.

  I started reading here after I first read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz. I also was doing research, at the same time, on Ancestry.com and to my at first utter disbelief when I looked up Rutherford, US census reports had him residing of course, at Bethel but also with his mistress at Beth Sarem, his millionaire property in San Diego. Whaaaatttttt? He's the President of the WTB&TS and even HE doesn't believe in what he preaches. Why should you?

  I found out that a Worldly/Normal party, is not unlike a JW party/gathering.

  The big difference, in polite society, being, NO discussions based on religion. How refreshing!

  Thank you again for all of your responses and suggestions.

  Thank you. Yes, I am going to a normal party.

  I guess, I am saying quiet because it isn't a dancing party.

  So I guess, we are going to sit around and "visit"?

  They don't know my back ground and I want to keep it that way.

  My mode of operation has always been to let/get the other person talk.

  I am genuinely interested in people. I already know what's in my head. I like to know what makes other people tick-tock.

  Single Malt Whiskey. A preference?

  i am not a drinker but i hear single malt whiskeys are good.. yesterday at the liquor store, i asked a nice man, who also was looking over the bottle display, if he could tell me which one does he prefer and why.

  one of the store clerks, came by, listening, and said she preferred the same bottle.. i bought the one they preferred:.

  As far as I know, they are not really "drinkers". They are worldly people from Glasgow, Scotland. Emmigrated less than 10 years ago.

  It is 6:30 right now, one hour to go before it is party-time.

  Unless anyone says otherwise, I will wrap up said bottle and present it to my hostess.

  I feel awkward.

  Glenmorangie. Highland single malt Scotch whiskey. 12 years old.

  It says they use sauternes casks.

  Does anyone have any experience with single malt?

  My daughter & I are invited out, for this evening, "7:30, drinks, dessert, fireplace, livingroom, a "few friends" are coming".

  We were invited over to these same peoples place for dinner in October. We brought home made dinner rolls, and home made pecan pies.

  Now we are invited over for tonight. I probably would have bought a bottle of Harvey's Bristol Creme or a Maderia or Port, but the shelves were bare.

  Could some of you comment on this for me please. I live on the West coast. Just coming up 5 o'clock.

  I read Big Mac's joke in the above, but I don't understand it. Can't picture it, but hey, let some time go by, maybe someone else will comment, then I can say, Oh, I get it, now. But...yikes!...4 hours! I've got other things I am supposed to be doing. Guess, I am just relaxing, visiting with Friends on J.net, instead. Oh well. That's OK.
